Licensing Policy

This policy outlines the licensing terms and conditions governing the submission, acceptance, publication, and reuse of scholarly articles in the Multidisciplinary Journal of Healthcare (MJH). The policy aims to ensure the integrity of the journal's content, promote open access and dissemination of knowledge, and protect the rights of authors and the journal.

Copyright Ownership and Transfer

  1. Author Copyright: Authors retain copyright ownership of their articles.
  2. Non-Exclusive License: Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant MJH a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and perform the article in any format or medium, including print, electronic, or digital.
  3. Author Rights: Authors retain the following rights:
    • To make copies of their article for personal use.
    • To use their article in future works or presentations.
    • To transfer copyright to another publisher or institution.
    • To self-archive their article in institutional or subject repositories, provided that they adhere to the journal's embargo period (if applicable).

Open Access Policy

MJH is committed to promoting open access to its content. All published articles will be freely available online to readers worldwide, without any subscription or paywall barriers.

Embargo Period

To ensure fair dissemination and to protect the rights of authors and the journal, there may be a temporary embargo period before articles are made freely available online. The embargo period will be specified at the time of submission and will typically be 12 months from the date of publication.

Reuse and Permissions

  1. Third-Party Permissions: Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material (e.g., figures, tables, quotations) from third parties.
  2. Reuse by Others: Third parties may reuse MJH articles under the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) license. This license allows others to copy, distribute, and display the article, but they cannot modify it or use it commercially.
  3. Commercial Use: For commercial use of MJH articles, third parties must obtain explicit permission from the journal or the authors.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including copyright laws. They should also ensure that their work is original and has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.

Journal Responsibilities

MJH reserves the right to review and edit submissions to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency with the journal's style guidelines. The journal will also take reasonable steps to protect the intellectual property rights of authors and to prevent plagiarism.

Modifications to the Policy

The journal reserves the right to modify this licensing policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on the journal's website.
