Waiver Eligibility

Purpose: This document outlines the eligibility criteria for scholarly waivers to be considered for publication in the Multidisciplinary Journal of Emerging Needs of Curriculum (MJENC). The waivers are intended to support authors from institutions or regions with limited access to research funds or publication resources.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Institutional Affiliation:

    • The author must be affiliated with an academic institution located in a developing country or region with limited research funding or publication resources.
    • The institution should be recognized by a national or international accrediting body.
  2. Research Topic:

    • The research topic should align with the journal's scope and focus on emerging needs in curriculum development, implementation, or evaluation.
    • The research should contribute significantly to the field and have practical implications for educational practitioners.
  3. Financial Constraints:

    • The author must provide a statement detailing the financial constraints that prevent them from paying the full publication fee.
    • This statement should include information about the institution's research budget, funding sources, and any attempts to secure funding for the publication.
  4. Academic Merit:

    • The manuscript must meet the journal's quality standards in terms of content, methodology, and writing style.
    • The manuscript should be original research, a comprehensive review, or a theoretical paper that contributes to the field.
  5. Author's Contribution:

    • The author must demonstrate a significant contribution to the research, including data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
    • The author should be able to provide evidence of their involvement in the research process.

Waiver Application Process:

  1. Submit a Complete Manuscript: Submit the manuscript to the journal's online submission system, following the guidelines outlined in the author instructions.
  2. Provide a Waiver Request: Include a separate waiver request with the manuscript. The request should provide detailed information about the author's institutional affiliation, research topic, financial constraints, and the manuscript's academic merit.
  3. Review and Decision: The editorial board will review the waiver request and the manuscript. If the manuscript meets the eligibility criteria and the editorial board approves the waiver, the manuscript will be considered for publication without a publication fee.

Note: The decision to grant a waiver is at the sole discretion of the editorial board. All decisions are final and no appeals will be considered.
