Publication Ethics

Introduction

The "Multidisciplinary Journal of Emerging Needs of Curriculum" (MJENC) is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in scholarly publication. These guidelines outline the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and the editorial board in ensuring the integrity of the publication process.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Original Work: Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original, has not been previously published, and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • Authorship: Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and writing of the manuscript. All authors must agree to the content and order of authorship.
  • Data Integrity: Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscript. Data should be collected, analyzed, and reported ethically.
  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism is strictly prohibited. Authors must cite all sources used in their work, including direct quotes, paraphrased material, and ideas.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their research or the interpretation of their findings.
  • Ethical Considerations: Authors should adhere to all relevant ethical guidelines, including those related to human subjects research, animal research, and data privacy.  

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts they review.
  • Objectivity: Reviews should be objective, constructive, and based on the merits of the work.
  • Timeliness: Reviewers should complete their reviews within the specified timeframe.
  • Conflict of Interest: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their review.

Responsibilities of the Editorial Board

  • Fairness: The editorial board must ensure a fair and transparent review process for all submitted manuscripts.
  • Ethical Standards: The editorial board must uphold the highest ethical standards in the publication process.
  • Transparency: The editorial board must be transparent about its decision-making process and provide feedback to authors.
  • Retraction Policy: The editorial board must have a clear policy for retracting published articles in cases of misconduct or serious errors.

Copyright and Permissions

  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright of their work, but grant the journal the right to publish and distribute the article.
  • Permissions: Authors are responsible for obtaining necessary permissions for the use of copyrighted material from other sources.

Grievance Procedure

  • Complaints: Any complaints regarding the publication process should be addressed to the editorial board.
  • Investigation: The editorial board will investigate all complaints in a timely and impartial manner.
