CRISPR-Cas9 technology has revolutionized the field of genetic engineering, offering unprecedented precision and efficiency in altering genomes. This review delves into the latest advancements in CRISPR technology, exploring its diverse applications in fields such as medicine, agriculture, and biotechnology. We discuss the technical innovations that have enhanced the specificity and efficacy of CRISPR-Cas9, including the development of novel guide RNA designs and optimized Cas9 variants. Furthermore, we examine the ethical implications of this powerful technology, addressing concerns related to unintended off-target effects, potential misuse for human enhancement, and equitable access to CRISPR-based therapies.
