Abstract

Intersectionality provides a critical framework for analyzing workplace equity by examining how gender, race, and class intersect to shape professional experiences and opportunities. This multidisciplinary study explores the systemic barriers that marginalized groups face in corporate environments, focusing on discrimination, wage gaps, career advancement, and workplace culture. Drawing from sociology, organizational psychology, and labor economics, this research highlights how structural inequalities persist despite legal frameworks promoting diversity and inclusion. Women of color, particularly those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, encounter compounded disadvantages that limit their access to leadership roles and fair compensation. Additionally, unconscious biases and institutional practices often reinforce power hierarchies, making it difficult for underrepresented groups to break through corporate glass ceilings. The study also explores the effectiveness of intersectional policies, such as targeted mentorship programs, equitable hiring practices, and inclusive leadership initiatives, in fostering a more just work environment. By integrating case studies and empirical data, this analysis underscores the need for organizations to adopt an intersectional approach to workplace equity, ensuring that policies address the nuanced realities of diverse employees. The findings emphasize that addressing workplace inequities requires a holistic strategy that considers multiple dimensions of identity rather than treating discrimination as a singular issue. This research contributes to the growing discourse on workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion by advocating for systemic change that empowers all employees, regardless of gender, race, or class.
